Chris
Morris oversees the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Asia Development Bank's (ADB) overall
engagement with civil society organizations (CSO). His responsibilities include
managing NGOC’s work plan and leading NGOC’s external and internal relations
and CSO cooperation initiatives.
Experience and accomplishments
Before joining NGOC, Chris was Senior Water Resources Specialist, responsible for processing and administration of water projects in the Philippines and Indonesia. He lead a multi-disciplined team processing ADB's first Integrated Water Resources Management, MFF program combining large water infrastructure with innovative community implementation approaches. Mr. Morris, an active member of the Water COP and has presented papers on water resources at international conferences in Indonesia, Philippines, South Korea, and Sweden.

Somehow, he has survived getting kicked by wild forest elephants in Borneo, getting charged by a rowdy tamaraw in Mindoro, and going fin-to-fin with a curious tiger shark in Tubbataha.

Anna Oposa, Save Philippine Seas
Anna R. Oposa is a multi-hyphenated changemaker. She is a freelance writer, public speaker, PADI Rescue Diver, and environmental advocate.
While taking up BA English Studies at the University of the Philippines-Diliman, Anna participated in a number of prestigious international conferences. She represented the Philippines in the 35th Ship for the Southeast Asian Youth Program, the Denso Youth for Earth Action, and the UN Climate Change Conference in Cancun, Mexico.
Two months after graduating cum laude, Yahoo! Southeast Asia hailed then 23-year-old Anna as one of the seven inspiring modern-day Filipino heroes for her courageous efforts in environmental conservation. In 2012, Anna received the Future for Nature Award in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. She is the first Filipino and youngest recipient of the prestigious award. Anna is currently using the financial resources she was awarded for a community-based conservation project for thresher sharks in Malapascua Island, Cebu. In 2013, she was named one of Devex’s 40 International Development Leaders Under 40.
As a prolific journalist, Anna’s written works have been published in numerous newspapers, magazines, and websites. She has co-written a workbook for elementary public school children entitled An Introduction to Climate Change for Filipino Youth.
Anna is a Global Shaper to the World Economic Forum. She was among the first Global Shapers to participate in the 2012 Annual Meeting held in Davos, Switzerland. She also serves as one of the fifty Councilors in the World Future Council, a non-profit based in Germany that brings the interests of future generations to the center of policy making.
Anna is the co-founder and Chief Mermaid of Save Philippine Seas, a movement to protect her country’s rich marine resources by harnessing the power of social media, lobbying for the enforcement of environmental laws, and various information, education, and communication activities.

Nancy Niklis, Environmental Consultant
Nancy Niklis holds a BS in Geology & Geophysics and a MS in Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences, both from The University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. Her M.S. thesis focused on an investigation of transport processes and “hotspots” of residual arsenic from former sugarcane lands on The Island of Hawai'i, HI, USA. She incorporated a multi-discipline approach from soil chemistry, surface hydrology and geomorphology with a focus on the use of such technology as ArcGIS, Minitab, and RUSLE 2. She travels throughout New Zealand and Southeast Asia giving solutions-based lectures on Sustainability and empowering youth to care for their natural resources and be stewards of their land, and just finished a tour in Myanmar.
Nancy maintains her job with Save the Sea Turtles International, an NGO that focuses on the preservation and conservation of beach environments through education. Previously, she has worked for Cardno TEC, Inc. as an Environmental Scientist focusing on reports for the Puna Geothermal Venture, taught at La Pietra-Hawai'i School for Girls, School for Examining Essential Questions of Sustainability (SEEQS) and chemistry laboratories at The University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. She was the East-West Center’s Participants Association (EWCPA) Sustainability Co-coordinator, from 2009-2010 the East-West Toastmaster’s President and have volunteered extensively throughout O’ahu, Hawai’i, USA for environmental causes. Candy Tong, Clean Air Asia
Candy Tong is an Environment Researcher from Clean Air Asia, the premier air quality network for Asia established 2001 by the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, and USAID which aims to promote better air quality and livable cities by translating knowledge to policies and actions that reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from transport, energy and other sectors.
Candy is currently working on projects under the Air Quality and Climate Change Program of Clean Air Asia. She was primarily engaged as a research assistant to work on the development of an emissions inventory of Metro Manila for the ongoing project entitled “Particulate Matter Dispersion Modeling in Metro Manila” that is co-implemented by Clean Air Asia, Kaibigan ng Kaunlaran at Kalikasan (KKK) and the Manila Observatory.
Before joining Clean Air Asia, she worked for the Affiliated Network for Social Accountability in East Asia and the Pacific (ANSA-EAP), a regional network that promotes social accountability and civil society engagement in public procurement in the Philippines as well as in the extractive industry. Her previous experience also includes conducting experimental economics research that is supported by the University of Hong Kong’s research development program. Candy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Santo Tomas.
